2006 Senior Ice Cream Social

Always on the lookout for activities and projects to benefit the High School students, the alumni association sponsored an end of the year ice cream social for the graduating Class of 2006 onThursday, May 18th on the HS lunch court patio. In a class of 462 students, about 325 showed up to enjoy the delicious ice cream sundaes—complete with a variety of flavors and toppings, whipped cream and cherries.

The students were really appreciative and cleaned up after themselves—there was not a drop of anything left anywhere and all the trash was in the trash cans: Nothing left for the seagulls!

Thanks to the help of teacher Howard Zager, alumni members Mo O'Connor-de Koff, Patrice Bricker and her husband Ron, parents from the PTSA, and students from the ASB class, everything went like clockwork beginning immediately after school at 2:30 and lasting til about 3:30.

We hope to make this an annual event. The PTSA sponsors a Welcome to the HS Ice cream social for incoming Freshman each September so this seemed like the perfect event to balance things out.

Senior class members were invited to join the Alumni Association again this year but this year, their one year (new) membership would be free of charge. We hope they will continue to be members.
